Giudecca island: what to see

The Giudecca island is one among the most beautiful islands of Venice and the Lagoon. What makes it different from the others is its magical stillness versus the restless streets full of tourists.

Take a break in your everyday life and enter the cloister of SS. Cosma and Damiano on the Giudecca island, and the Fernando’s atelier.

Fernando will bring you few decades back, to show you how the paper-making process has been evolving through the years, and re-discover the most traditional way to make paper, here in Venice. Learn the full process and the tools used to make paper!

The artisan will show you each step of the process, explaining his work, the frame used to create the paper sheets.
