Other practical information

Once you have made your booking, you will receive an e-mail with all the relevant information about the event; this will include directions on how to request and organise any costume hire and other additional services available.

Collection of invitation: on the day of the event, with the booking voucher, you must go to the venue of the organising company to collect your invitation, designed and personalised by hand by the organiser, which must be shown at the entrance to the party.

Period costume hire: If you do not choose costume hire, you will need to send a photo of the costume you will be wearing at the event for authorisation by the organiser.

Photo Release – with the purchase of the ticket:

you authorise the organising company and all those acting on its behalf to take your image on television, photographic or film media with the right to use it for editorial, promotional or any other publication purposes;
you renounce your image rights without limitation of time and without any consideration in your favour; this renunciation does not, however, permit the use of the images in contexts that are detrimental to personal dignity and decorum and in any case for use and/or purposes other than those indicated above;
you hereby declare that you aware that the use of personal video cameras, cameras and photographic equipment is not permitted during the event.

Sales Conditions

For cancellations until 24 January 2025 there is a refund of 50% of the total ticket price. Thereafter, there will be no refunds. Due to the high number of requests for this event, we are forced to establish very strict cancellation policies. Any reason for cancellation (inability to travel to the country/region of origin) will not be recognized. We therefore recommend that a private insurance policy be taken out at the client’s expense.

In case of cancellation of the event by the organizer (e.g. for COVID reasons), 90% of the ticket will be refunded or a voucher of EQUAL AMOUNT valid for one year will be issued. The organizer and VivoVenetia will not be held responsible for any damage or financial loss related to the organization of the participants’ stay.

The Doge’s Ball, “Il Ballo del Doge”, was first staged in 1994. It takes place every year during the Carnival of Venice and each edition is dedicated to a new theme. Its creator, Antonia Sautter, is a stylist and organizer of exclusive events.

The theme of the 2024 edition was “Yesterday, Today … Forever“: an unforgettable event!

“Following the traces that the Jolly will draw between the salons, staircases, vaults and lintels and escorted by a parade of Pulcinella, you will resurface in a paradise between gift tables, extraordinary decorations and floral decorations in an explosion of joy and confetti, which will delight all your senses…”

The Doge’s Ball is a unique event and as such there are several ways to participate and many useful services to prepare and experience it at its best.

Admission Tickets “Ballo del Doge”

Section Supreme: € 5,000 per person

All Sections (Supreme, A, B, C, D) include the full ‘Il Ballo del Doge’ experience. The difference lies in the position of the tables in the sections, with the ‘Supreme’ section offering the best position.

Dress code and costume hire

At this masquerade ball, a costume is compulsory. You can hire it directly from the organiser’s atelier. The costume fitting is itself a real event and a moment you will not forget. You can choose from more than 1,500 unique costumes, handmade with passion.

A unique venue: Scuola Grande della Misericordia

The 2025 edition will take place at the majestic Scuola Grande della Misericordia, located in the Cannaregio district at the end of the fondamenta.

This unique building dominates the northern part of the historic centre of Venice.

The “Scuola Grande di Santa Maria della Misericordia” was the seat of a school of Battuti di Venezia that was among the richest and most active between the early 14th and early 19th centuries.

Today, great restoration work has made it an ideal location for Venice’s most sumptuous events.
