1. Dog friendly beaches in Veneto

The town of Jesolo provides these papers printable, in PDF format, where you can find information on the various areas where dogs are allowed in each beach. If you want to be sure, Bau Bau Beach just opened for business in Jesolo: a finely equipped area in the bigger Nemo Beach resort, where dogs can run, swim, and even do an agility track!

At Caorle’s Bau Beach, dogs can swim and even get washed in a designated area, and during the winter, it is possible to bring dogs off the leash.

Dog friendly beaches in San Michele al Tagliamento

La Spiaggia di Pluto is the main beach for dog lovers in San Michele. Here all dogs are allowed and among the available services we list:

2. Dog friendly camping: all the camping areas in Veneto where you can take your dog with you

Venice and surroundings:

Jesolo: here you can find Pet Village inside Waikiki camping area

Cavallino Treporti: 5 star services at the Village Marina di Venezia Camping! Camping Village Cavallino offers pet-dedicated areas as well, and lastly, at the Dog Camp in Union Lido camping, your pet will find paradise, and among the services offered we can list:

  • dog bowls
  • designated areas
  • veterinary
  • pet-sitter

Caorle: there’s plenty of choice here too. BiDog Beach inside San Francesco Village camping offers many great services like swimming area and deckchairs for dogs. At Green Camping Altanea dogs are granted free entry and access to the sea and the beach (check their website for more info). From 2017, Laguna Village camping opens Piazzole Perlina and Maxi Caravan Stellina, dedicated to campers with small to medium dogs and there are no restrictions on cats either!

Isola Verde – Chioggia: at Campeggio Isamar, here also access to the beach is allowed for dogs, we suggest reading their rules before booking

Venezia – MalcontentaCamping Serenissima accepts dogs and offers lots of entertainment for everybody.

Venezia – CampaltoCamping Rialto allows dogs, still we suggest reading their rules.

Outside the province of Venice:

Belluno: The Lago di Arsiè camping allows dogs and provides dog-friendly beaches along the Brenta river, dedicated to our four-legged friends. Also Camping Olympia in Cortina d’Ampezzo allows dogs, and you will find plenty of dog-friendly services in Nevegal, at Park Camping Nevegal, where all dogs are granted free entry.

Verona: here you will find many camping areas along Garda lake’s coast, many of which allow pets. In Peschiera del Garda you can check Villaggio Turistico Camping San Benedetto-Vecchio Mulino, which allows dogs and suggests the nearby dog-friendly beach called Braccobaldo Beach (“Braccobaldo” being the Italian name for Huckleberry Hound, the cartoon character by Hanna and Barbera), one of the nicest dog-beaches in Veneto. In Brenzone dogs are allowed at Camping San Zeno and at Camping Monja, while in Malcesine, your pets will be welcome at Camping Claudia.

Rovigo: In Rovigo, Barricata Holiday Village is known for excellent hospitality for dogs. A real paradise if you are traveling with your dog, with dog-friendly services and beaches.

Nowadays, a lot of structures allow pets to some extent. You can find a good list on the website Vacanze Animali. Here we list some examples:

Trip Advisor is a popular travel website with a section dedicated to structures that allow dogs, full of reviews by the guests.

4. Excursions with your dog: some good advice to get started!

A couple ideas for the seaside

Boat excursion on Po’s delta: a quite aquatic experience that your dog will love! You will explore together the delta reaching the sea, with a nature guide at your service to satisfy your curiosity during this comfortable and calm tour.

Lido di Venezia by bike: in Lido, Murazzi and Alberoni you can rent a bike with a cart so that your pets or babies can travel along with you!

A couple ideas for the mountains

Under the moonlight in Val Leogra: here’s an excursion for the whole family, dogs included! A guide will take you on a wonderful walk in this suggestive area, sharing tales and anecdotes of the mountains, while your dog will enjoy a walk in an uncontaminated environment, with lots of new smells and sounds.

The old inn in Val Belluna: a delicious cheese and cold cuts buffet with wine in a historical “locanda” at the feet of the Dolomites! A great chance for a nice walk for your dog, and maybe he/she will get some delicacy under the table too? (But remember, too much dairy can be bad for your dog!)
