  • Private experience for up to 40 participants.
  • The workshop takes place in an artisan studio between Rialto and St. Mark’s; the exact location will be provided in your booking voucher
  • During online booking, you can select Premium or Prestige upgrades to add special decorative materials
  • If you are booking for a bachelorette party, select “bachelorette party” from the dropdown menu during purchase and set the quantity to 1.

  • Cancellations made up to 7 days before the experience will receive an 80% refund of the total amount.
  • Cancellations made between 6 and 3 days before the experience will receive a 50% refund.
  • No refund is provided for cancellations made within 3 days of the activity or in case of no-show (failure to be present at the agreed time and location).

You will work on a base made of authentic papier-mâché, the traditional material used for Venetian masks. Lightweight, durable, and easy to shape, papier-mâché provides the perfect base for decoration. Guided by a Venetian Master Artisan, you will observe the creative process up close and try decoration techniques yourself. This is not just a creative activity, it is a way to connect with a living tradition of the city.

How the venetian mask workshop works and available options

The workshop is designed to be engaging and accessible to everyone, even those with no artistic experience. After a short introduction to the work of the mascareri and the tradition of Venetian masks, you will begin the creative phase.

You can choose between two different options:

Mask Decoration Workshop

  • Duration: approximately 1.5 – 2 hours
  • Decoration of a pre-made papier-mâché mask
  • Use of paints, glitter, and decorative materials
  • The finished mask is yours to keep as a souvenir

Mask Creation and Decoration Workshop

A more complete experience that allows you to discover all stages of the Venetian mascareri craft.

  • Duration: approximately 4 hours, divided over two days (2 hours on the first day and 2 hours on the following day)
  • First session dedicated to creating the mask
  • Second session dedicated to decorating it
  • This workshop takes place over two separate days to allow the papier-mâché to dry before the decoration phase.

Among the materials available, you will find professional paints, glitter and decorative elements, fabrics, feathers, Swarovski crystals, trimmings, and ornamental details (when selected).

Step by step, you will see your mask take shape.

At the end of the workshop, you will proudly be able to say: “I made this mask myself.” And of course, you can take it home with you.
