To discover Murano through glass is to connect with one of the most deeply rooted artisan traditions in Venetian history. In this hands-on lampworking workshop, you will do much more than simply watch a demonstration: you will work directly with glass alongside artists who live and create every day in their studio on the island.
Among flame, colour, and craftsmanship, you will enjoy an authentic experience inside a contemporary atelier where glass remains a medium for artistic research, creative expression, and living tradition.
The workshop
The studio is an informal and creative space where daily production and artistic experimentation come together. It is located along one of Murano’s quiet canals, away from the busiest tourist routes.
Works of art line the walls, tools rest on the worktables, and the gentle warmth of the flame fills the air. Here, tradition and contemporary creativity coexist naturally within the same space.
The artists who work here have developed a thoughtful teaching approach over the years, based on careful observation and a gradual learning process.

Available Workshops
Shared Workshop – 2 Hours
The workshop takes place in small groups, with a maximum of 6 participants and workstations shared between two people. This format naturally alternates hands-on practice with observation, creating a relaxed and engaging rhythm throughout the experience.
The artists guide each participant step by step, allowing plenty of time to become familiar with the glass, the flame, and the movements involved in lampworking.
The shared workshop is available:
- Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Friday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Custom dates and times are available upon request.
Private Workshop – 2 Hours
A more intimate and personalised experience, ideal for individuals, couples, or families who wish to enjoy uninterrupted hands-on practice.
The torch remains exclusively yours throughout the entire session. This allows for greater independence, deeper exploration of the technique, and more time for personal experimentation without sharing the workstation with other participants.
How the Workshop Works
The workshop lasts approximately 2 hours and begins with observation.
The artists introduce their work, explain glass as a living material, and demonstrate the lampworking technique in action. Watching the gestures, following the transformation of glass in the flame, and understanding the material before touching it are all essential parts of the learning process.
You will then move on to practical work through a gradual progression:
- First exercises using glass rods to become familiar with the flame and heat
- Creation of two simple glass beads, guided step by step
- Creation of two decorative beads in colours of your choice, with greater independence and more time to experiment
Each participant enjoys approximately 40 minutes of hands-on practice at a shared workstation. It is through direct experience that you begin to understand the nature of glass: its delicacy, its unpredictability, and the way it constantly changes shape under heat.
While the beads cool down, a coffee break is offered inside the studio. This is an opportunity to explore the space, ask questions, and continue enjoying the unique atmosphere of the atelier.
At the end of the experience, the beads you have created will be handed to you, ready to take home as an authentic and personal souvenir of your time in Murano.corso a Murano.

Special Occasions & Team Building Events
The workshop is also ideal for celebrating special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings, and corporate team-building events. This experience lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and is designed to be dynamic, interactive, and engaging. Participants rotate between different workstations, taking turns creating glass beads using the traditional lampworking technique in a hands-on and enjoyable way.
For special celebrations, the beads created by the group can be assembled into a unique bracelet for the guest of honour, creating a lasting memory of the occasion. The experience can accommodate groups of up to 12 participants. For corporate team-building activities, the workshop encourages collaboration, creativity, and team spirit. Certain aspects of the experience can be customised to suit the specific needs and objectives of the group.
An authentic and original experience, perfect for sharing a memorable moment and creating something truly unique with your own hands.
The studio is located just a short walk from the Murano Museo and Murano Venier ACTV vaporetto stops, which can be reached from Venice via lines 4.1, 4.2, and 3. The workshop is easily accessible by public transport. For schedules and service updates, please visit the ACTV website.
