Winery Tours

Two tours, both including a tasting, which complement each other. The first includes a walk through a vineyard; the second involves a tour inside a historic wine cellar.

You leave Venice in the morning and gradually watch the landscape change. The lagoon disappears behind you, the plains give way to hills, and vineyards begin to cover the slopes.

And this is where the journey itself becomes part of your day.

Instead of driving directly to a winery and leaving again after the tasting, the route takes you along scenic roads through the hills, with photo stops that can include Molinetto della Croda and Rolle. You experience the landscape that gives the wine its identity before you taste what it produces.

The UNESCO-listed landscape is remarkable precisely because vineyards, wooded areas, villages and steep grassy terraces known as ciglioni have developed together over centuries.

Your first winery experience takes you into the Cartizze hills, a prestigious area within Valdobbiadene DOCG.

Here, the focus is on the vineyard and the land. You learn about the territory and winemaking methods, then walk through an organically tended vineyard among centuries-old vines and reach a panoramic photo point.

The experience ends with a wine tasting of four wines, including DOCG Cartizze, Brut, Dry and Extra Dry, accompanied by appetizers and a guided sensory analysis.

The second winery gives you a different perspective.

This time, you step inside a historic Cella Vinaria dating from 1931, originally used to age bottled wine at a constant temperature and away from light.

You learn more about the winemaking process, explore the cellar and taste four wines with local cold cuts and cheeses.

That contrast is intentional. One stop connects you with vines, soil and landscape, while the other takes you into a historic winemaking environment. Rather than repeating the same type of tasting twice, the two visits complement each other.

8-hour tour of the Prosecco hills, departing from Venice: the itinerary

Free time with a stop for a quick lunch if requested.

A 6-hour Prosecco wine tour that leaves your morning free

Don't want a day trip to divide your entire day in Venice? Our 6-hour Prosecco Hills from Venice option starts in the afternoon.

You can spend your morning exploring Venice, return to your Venice hotel if you wish, and then meet your driver at Piazzale Roma for a 1:45 pm departure.

You still enjoy the two core winery experiences, the organic vineyard walk and wine tasting in Cartizze and the tasting and visit inside the historic wine cellar.

There is no lunch break, allowing the tour to concentrate the experience into six hours. Return to Venice is scheduled for around 7:45 pm.

Extend your Prosecco Hills from Venice day to 10 hours

Have more time? After the 8-hour Prosecco experience, add two hours and discover another side of the Veneto.

There are three extensions to choose from. Guided visits are optional, allowing us to adapt the final part of the itinerary to what interests you most.

Alta Via Dolomiti

Prosecco Hills + Treviso and Tiramisù

Continue to Treviso for a walk through a historic center of cobbled streets, porticoes and canals.

You can explore independently, although we recommend adding a local guide to bring the city to life. The route can introduce you to Piazza dei Signori, the Duomo, Palazzo dei Trecento, the Isola della Pescheria and Canale dei Buranelli.

And then there is Tiramisù. A guide can tell you its Treviso story and take you in front of the place where this famous Italian dessert was born.

Duration

Highlights

Passo Giau, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Lake Misurina, Lake Antorno, Tre Cime di Lavaredo views and Lake Auronzo.

Alta Via Dolomiti

Prosecco Hills + Asolo, Canova and Villa di Maser

If art and culture are your priority, extend the wine experience with an itinerary connecting Possagno, Asolo and Villa di Maser.

In Possagno you can discover the world of Antonio Canova, including the Gypsotheca and Canova's House and the Tempio Canoviano. The itinerary also touches Asolo and Villa di Maser, the celebrated Palladian villa.

Because the extension lasts two hours, there isn't enough time for a complete guided visit at all three stops. You can therefore choose one place for a guided visit, Possagno, Asolo or Villa di Maser, while still including all three destinations in the itinerary.

It is another way to make the day yours.

Walk through the historic village before reaching the castle overlooking the surrounding landscape. A guide is optional, but we recommend a guided visit to CastelBrando if you want to understand more about its long history and historic spaces.

After vineyards and cellars, it gives the final hours of your day a completely different character.
