The Carnival is a very special time for Venice. It lights the city up for weeks with spectacular parties, international artists, shows, dances and music. It’s an electrifying whirlwind that will take you to live magical nights as only Venice can do.
The Venice Carnival 2026 will be full of events with many traditional carnival events lined up. First the Venice Water Parade taking place on the grand canal, then Festa delle Marie and Flight of the Angel are certainly some of the most famous day events of the Carnevale di Venezia. Venice Carnival Ball of Dreams – 7th February 2026
Every year during Carnival the ancient palaces of Venice become stunning locations for fabulous Venetian masked balls. This year, it will be the Palazzo Ca’Zen ai Frari opening its gates for the fantastic “Ball of Dreams”. It is located in the San Polo district, near the Frari Basilica. This palace is a magnificent example of a 15th century residence of the Venetian nobility. Today the palace is still owned by the Zeno family, one of the richest and oldest in the history of Venice. Inside you can see the neoclassical ceilings of Sebastiano Santi.
The “Ball of Dreams” will be a magnetic, exclusive experience as only a Venice Carnival Masked Ball can be. In the charming Palazzo Ca’ Zen, you will be in the very heart of Venice and will enjoy a uniquely Venetian experience surrounded by art, music, performance and inspiration… A dream in a dream, like the very city of Venice.
To attend the official Carnival dinner with entrance at 8 p.m., the dress code is evening dress or period costume and Venetian mask.
With the Dream Package, Deluxe Dram Package and Royal Dream Package tickets you already have the costume rental included. With the Gala Carnival Room Ticket a dress or an elegant outfit with mask is required (not included in the ticket).
Dream Package tickets differ from each other in the location of the assigned table for dinner.

Ball of Dreams Venice: event program
Discover the program and times of the event.
- The doors will open at 8:00 pm with a welcome cocktail.
- Then, at around 9:00 pm, a most delightful gala dinner will be served at the table on the Piano Nobile. The lights will be dimmed and from the shadows dancers, players, and performers will start appearing and entertain the party – the main shows take place in the Central Hall.
- The after dinner party will start at midnight. The party will go on into the night with unique entertainment, more surprises, an open bar and a discotheque!

DREAM PACKAGE
- Includes participation in the complete event.
- Seated dinner is at the Central Salon – table from 5 to 9.

Carnival of Venice: Costume rental instructions
If you have chosen the Dream Package that includes our costume rental, we will now explain the steps to follow after your order. You will receive an email from the costume atelier to collect information regarding your exact measurements. Subsequently you will then receive our complete catalogue of costumes, with those available according to your size.
We will then fix an appointment for you to try on your costume in our workshop near Saint Mark’s Square and collect your invitation for the Carnival Ball of Dreams.
On the day of the event, the costume will be delivered directly to your accommodation and will be picked up at the same location the following day. Easy, isn’t it?
The rental of the dress includes:
- For women: full dress, underskirt or panier (according to the age of the dress), handbag, gloves and collar.
- For men: suit, shirt, lace, shoes, socks and tricorn if provided by the dress.
The only things not included in the price are wigs and masks, which must be purchased and never rented for hygienic reasons.

History of the carnival
Carnival, being a pre-Easter festival, means ‘farewell to meat’ and is celebrated throughout Italy. It was first held in Venice in the 11th century and consisted of over two months of revelry, until it fell into decline during the 18th century. After a long absence, the Carnival returned in 1979. The Government decided to bring back the history and culture of Venice, and sought to use the traditional Venetian Carnival as the centerpiece of its efforts. The redevelopment of the masks began as the pursuit of some Venetian college students for the tourist trade. Now the carnival attracts about 3 million visitors every year!
